...a man who lived his life with a ferocious veracity... an inspiring and impossible to describe genius who never gave up or sold himself out. He passed away suddenly, December 2003. We have all been deeply moved by his passing and are honoured to present some small fragments of his life's work here posthumously. To read testimonials to a dear friend and source of endless inspiration... click here. Recorded during the last years of his life, when Marty in his own words "knew he was in front of his death". They present a man reflecting honestly and openly upon the experiences of his life. Over a period of a couple of years Marty recorded hours and hours of material speaking to a few people in our then combined living room/studio. Those sessions have been edited to fit onto a cd and are sure to touch anyone whether they knew him or not. "That Herd Feeling" and "The Littlest Smile" are unique recordings in many ways. Beginning with a moment of silence, sounds were played and Marty responded, recounting spontaneously these touching stories where he reflects, baring his heart, illuminating scenes from his life that give a sense of perspective. Truly magical moments; both the music and story were 100% improvised and recorded in one take with no further production.

This audio version of the book was narrated by Arthur's brother Marty Segal, just prior to his passing in 2003. The recordings were discovered shortly after Marty's death and have previously gone unheard. This audio book, written by a man who lived his life in the closet for years, talks in depth about his experiences and what he learned from them. Set in New York during the gay liberation of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Arthur had been associated with the Gay Activist Alliance. It explores personal and social contexts relating to homosexuality whilst investigating his own experience of coming to terms with it. This is an honest, personal and liberating portrayal. 01 Blanket of Silence 02 No Longer Spectating 03 Stereotypes 04 Getting Wild 05 The Problem of Coming Out 06 Revealing Yourself 07 Teasing 08 Tolstoy 09 When You're Strange 10 Demanding 11 At What Price 12 A Vision 13 About Changing Oneself 14 Repressing Sexuality 15 Manhood and Metaphors 16 Eve of a March NOTE: If there’s anyone who knew Arthur or Marty Segal and might have photos of them, or other works they wrote or stories that relate to their activities, please get in touch. m3u - download - buy cd |

| The Tao of Hitch-Hiking | ||||||
| online version - downloadable pdf - word document A unique and orignal use of the ebook format starts out as an account of one of Marty's frequent hitchhikes along a road many times travelled. It expands into a much wider exploration of human experience visitng some of Marty's favourite stopovers. With the hitch-hiker's road as the laboratory, he explores: The Proof and Technique of Human Energy Transfer, The Quantum Theory of Fleeting Encounters, Non-electronic Information Highways, The Suppressed Significance of Godel's Theorem, Perfect Recall and Creativity, and dozens of Peoples' Wisdoms fused into a Science Of Living. Lest it be forgot, Marty was an exemplary mathemetician, social scientist and a respected man within his academic fields. He was an original thinker whose ideas always pushed for the core of a subject. |
